[mythtv-users] help! Ubuntu upgrade ate my mythtv

I would agree with Thomas... but I believe my system has gone through
that same series of upgrades without issue... at least LTS to LTS.

It looks like you have a good backup (today at 06:36)... just back it
up to another machine to be extra safe.

Then, install mythbuntu-desktop... I would imagine you will be good to
go after that.  Hopefully when MythTV was removed, the configuration
files didn't go with it... typically they are left alone unless you
PURGE the package.

The database should still be there... again, databases typically
aren't deleted when the package that uses them is removed, that would
be a VERY unpopular practice.
