I have a bit more useful information, so I hope the followup post will
be excused..
I killed the 'thunar' file manager.
I restarted the frontend with --verbose media, playback, nodatabase.
When I pop out the disc and put it in again, this is what I get in
mythfrontend.log:
Dec 9 21:26:23 mythbox mythlogserver: mythfrontend[11862]: I Monitor
mythcdrom-linux.cpp:421 (checkMedia) /dev/sr0 Media changed
Dec 9 21:26:28 mythbox mythlogserver: mythfrontend[11862]: I Monitor
mythcdrom-linux.cpp:458 (checkMedia) /dev/sr0 Current status
MEDIASTAT_OPEN
Dec 9 21:26:28 mythbox mythlogserver: mythfrontend[11862]: I
CoreContext mythmediamonitor.cpp:713 (mediaStatusChanged) Posting
MediaEvent (MEDIATYPE_AUDIO, MEDIASTAT_NOTMOUNTED ->
MEDIASTAT_USEABLE)
Dec 9 21:26:28 mythbox mythlogserver: mythfrontend[11862]: I
CoreContext mythmediamonitor.cpp:676 (JumpToMediaHandler) No media
handler found for event type
The disc is inserted at 21:26:something-earlier-than-23sec, the log
entry before that was 5 minutes earlier, at 21:21:36.
I get the popup from xfce, and then the log output appears (tail -f).
Cheers
Vince
