William, did you have issues other than the one you referenced in the link? You can easily bypass that by removing the deprecated AptMessageDialog from Mythbuntu-Control-Centre, see here for details, particularly post 5. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mythbuntu-control-centre/+bug/1158117

I had no problems after that one tweak on both 13.04 and 13.10.
