In .mythtv/themes/<WhateverThemeYouUse>

Edit osd.xml, and look for

 <window name="osd_status">

Then change the <area> definition.  For example, in Steppes (which is
a 1920x1080 theme), it has:

 <area>100,770,1720,80</area>

That translates into x, y, width, height.
