I don't have any suggestions likely to be useful, but I too see a 
failure of myy main box to scan recordings on the laptop that was once 
set up as a frontend but is now used independently.  I suspect a 
historical confusion in hostnames - perhaps just a mismatched case 
somewhere.  The laptop libraries. both Video and Recordings, both 
contain mystery items, when viewed through uPnP, that I would like to 
zap.  Laptop 0.26, main box 0,25.3
