I forgot to add the relevant versions. I am running the current GIT release
of mythtv as of 2/21/2013 right now, to see if it fixed the issue from
0.26.0-release.
PHP version is 5.4.11

A red herring for me was this bug: http://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/10504

patches did not apply to the revision of MythTV 0.26 that was default for
Archlinux and bug is still present after upgrading to the latest GIT
release.
