FWIW This fault developed for me on 0.26 fixes when I installed the
mythbuntu repository of the 16th.

The memory leak fix of the 13th improves my frontend stability
considerably so I was stuck!
I had to work out how to build from source and back out the following
change.

3c8d88a Temporary fix for #11159: Fix playback of HD-PVR recording.
Jan 13.
I fixed it by removing that change.
download the git repositery
git revert 3c8d88ac55c2b2c1bc652076d7824529254829a4
make
sudo make install
Building from source is easy but it was quite difficult to install the
programs onto a mythbuntu system and get
the correct executables running.
If you need instructions ask.
