Virtualization is a tool to achieve a specific goal, not the end goal itself.
Most tools can be used for good or evil, and can be used in ways they
were not intended and perform poorly (who has never used a screwdriver
as a pry bar?)

So, the real question is what is the goal you are trying to achieve?
