Yes, so to keep it simple, the OP should set proper Schedule Order to 
put the HDTV devices first, then set per-recording-rule priorities and 
shouldn't need to set any HDTV filter or HDTV priority.  I was just 
trying to say that setting HDTV priority is more likely to "feel right" 
but do the wrong thing than just leaving it off and--in the event 
there's a show he really wants in HDTV--use the occasional HDTV filter.

Definitely.  That's the power--and the challenge--of using MythTV.
