I forgot to add that while I scroll the recordings list on my phone, the MB system log (I use rsyslog) shows entries like:

Mar  4 21:27:15 storage mythbackend[5907]: 2013-03-04 21:27:15.389281 E  GetFile - FileName missing.
Mar  4 21:27:15 storage mythbackend[5907]: 2013-03-04 21:27:15.419456 E  MethodInfo::Invoke - An Exception Occurred: GetFile - FileName missing.
