[mythtv-users] The Final Nail in MythTranscode?

HI!
At least in Europe, it is not forbidden to keep recordings longer.
What's wrong with archiving a series on DVD?
Yes, it takes some time marking the cut points, transcoding (lossless!)
and burning to DVD. But not THAT much time.
And it's also a lot cheaper than buying all DVD boxes of all seasons.
Also, if you only keep your recordings on a hard drive, then you lose
everything when it dies.
So, the next argument will probably be "buy a raid-5 system", but then
it's not that cheap anymore and it also burns energy.
Having said that, I have only 2-3 series where I am doing this, but
still I think it's the best solution for me.
Does this mean I am able to fix bugs in mythtranscode? Certainly not.
And why should this have to do anything with each other?
What I can do is help testing bug fixes.
Thomas
