[mythtv-users] Can't watch live tv from HDPVR anymore

I'm setting up myth for a friend, and when I left off last myth was almost working (I *think* live tv worked).  When I arrived to resume setup today I could no longer watch live tv.

When I try to watch tv from the myth frontend (mythlivingroom), the screen stays black and eventually times out with no lock.  When I monitor messages from mythbackend, the output below shows onscreen and keeps repeating.

As well, the HDPVR never turns on the blue ring light -meaning it never tries to record - when I watch livetv.  I confirmed the HDPVR device is alive, visible by lsusb, and mythbackend sees the device since I removed and readded it as a tuner.

Can someone tell me what is going on here?  Has the HDPVR died?  (it's new).  Did I mistakenly screw up some setting?
