I have seen a lot of odd things using analog VGA ports with TV's. It seems
that some tv's simply will not let you run native (or any) HD resolution
using a VGA cable. In some cases you can force it by ignoring edid data
and writing your own mode line. In some cases the TV's vga circuits simply
won't support anything over 1024x768 or 1280x1024 or whatever. And of
course, sometimes it's the video card thats the problem; older intel gpu's
have given me trouble.
