Thanks for the heads up.  Just curious: I'm running Gentoo as well.  Is the
fix you're referring to in the newest media-tv/mythtv-0.25.3_p20130422
ebuild?  I was going to be updating from media-tv/mythtv-0.25.3_p20130131.
