Did you perhaps try to import your music back into the same directory?
Note there is difference between scanning for new music and importing music.

If you wanted MythMusic to pick up your new tags then Scan For New Music
is what you wanted.
I'll add a check to prevent users trying to import their music on top of
itself that can only cause trouble.
