I'll just throw this out (I do not use mythzoneminder, so I
have no standing), but could it also be an issue with
the compiler in regards to bit size on the system (32 vs
64)?  I know that there were some "interesting" issues
reported with C++03 code not being consistent with C
code in regards to sizes of some basic types.  C++11
was supposed to clean up some of that inconsistency,
although I have no idea if that would fix the problem (and,
of course, MythTV does not yet require a C++11
compiler, and, as I recall, there are still a couple of
codes that need to be cleaned up for full C++11
compliance).
