[mythtv-users] Laggy menu navigation in recordings screen

Can anyone help (or commiserate) with my problem of navigating in the
recordings screen? I'm running current mythbuntu v0.27 on a remote
frontend. Sometime in the last 8 weeks moving within the recordings screen
requires waiting up to 3 seconds for the cursor to respond. Doesn't matter
if I use an ir remote or keyboard. Changing themes had no effect.
Restarting FE and rebooting: no effect. Top shows FE using 15 to 20% CPU
when navigating. My combined FE/BE running same software does not exhibit
this behavior. Changing between qt and openGL also had no effect.

The two themes I tried were mythcenter-wide and blue-abstract. I can hit an
arrow key quickly many times and it appears to remember them all, but you
can see the cursor move and pause, move and pause.

The system is using an i3-2105 3.1ghz dual core processor with 4gb ram and
a GT430 video card.

Any ideas about what else I could try?
