If you are on Ubuntu you can also use the second recipe from
http://www.mythbuntu.org/development/recipes but use fixes/0.27 instead 
of fixes/0.24
and apply the fix as patch from
https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/20f7cd2858e79385ceec07b2c19c7e4f84714e18.patch
(that's a link to the commit that you'd cherry-pick following the other 
guide)

If you choose the PPA variant over the local package variant you can 
then give the link to your PPA to other users, to make testing even easier.
