I was guessing that it might be a channel that is broadcasting less the 
24x7. Maybe time sharing with one channel running 6am to 9pm, the other 
9pm to 6am.
If that was the case you might be starting the recording before the 
channel appears in the transport stream (that would be a bug on the 
broadcasters side, but has happened in the past).

But your situation appears to be something else. I have no idea what 
might be the cause, though :(
