Yes, but if you were running different fixes versions of 0.25, you
could still be getting a database upgrade happening.  Check the logs.
There should be a smaller difference between the versions, so the
upgrade should take a shorter time, but if your database is huge like
mine, it could still take several minutes.

So when did it become unresponsive?  With a new kernel version?  It
might be an idea to try installing Mythbuntu 12.04.0 instead of
12.04.3 to get an older kernel and all its accompanying bits like the
older X server.
