to VDPAU, and any time I play a video Myth segfaults and crashes.

everything, including menuing. In fact this is the mode it's in now and I
can't change it because all I get is the black screen. At least <Esc>
works to exit out of Myth.

wrong with the way Myth implements it. I can't even get software-decoding
to work, lol.

some way to use that, and push the video out the AMD card. The AMD card is
the only device on my system with an HDMI

I had vaapi working in myth 0.23, 0.25 and 0.27 on mytbuntu-12.04 combined
be+fe with hd6570 hooked to a tv via hdmi. It was working fine till it
started segfaulting occasionally and also was not able to play mp4 files
for some reason which was the main reason for me to eventually switch to
different profile. Never got to the bottom of it due to lack of time.
My myth fe box though ubuntu-12.04 with myth 0.27 and amd a4-4000 cpu still
works with vaapi profile no issues at all. Hdmi output as well to a 21"
monitor.
Have you tried vaapi with 0.27? Whats the radeon card on your system?
(Sorry the pastebin has expired)
