Yup, this card does require firmware for the analog side to work.  Run
"dmesg" and look at the output for specifically which firmware is
required, then Google.

Bear in mind that this card is an analog framegrabber.  It doesn't
have an onboard MPEG encoder, so I'm sure a number of people here will
recommend you only use it for digital reception.
