[mythtv-users] Pause when starting to play recording

I get a long pause when starting to play a recording, frequently 5 or 10
seconds, but sometimes as long as 20 or more.  Using the default logging, I
see a long pause between these two lines:

12 seconds in this case.  Before investigating further I wanted to ask if
this is a potential culprit, or if it's more likely something else which
isn't being logged currently.  If it is an audio issue, what's my next
step, and if not, any suggestions for what to turn on logging for?

I have barriers off currently on the system drive where the database
