By default the audio test uses 16 bits audio, 48kHz pink noise samples

With highest mode on, it uses whatever best mode your audio card support.

Typically 32 bits,  192kHz

It doesn't work with most audio cards, unless you've seriously bumped the
hardware audio card buffer
