That's precisely my point.

The US often lags behind others because it tends to standardize on
earlier versions of things and then gets stuck in those standards.
1080i MPEG2 broadcasts are going to be with us for a very long time.
I don't think Andre's assessment that UHDTV is coming soon is relevant
to my local area.
