From another machine on the network I can do telnet
192.168.1.111 6543 so I don't think it is a firewall issue. I
can also do telnet 127.0.0.1 6543 from the machine running the
backend.<br>
<br>
Googling says that the backend stops because something else is
using this port but netstat and ps disagree:<br>
<br>
netstat | grep 6543 ---> nothing<br>
ps -A | grep mythbackend --> nothing.<br>
<br>
mysql is running on 6543 and I can do mysql -u mythtv -p
mythconverg successfully.<br>
<br>
I deleted all the cards, sources, and input and re-did them. No
joy.<br>

I spend most of yesterday on this and I am out of ideas.<br>
