Having the frontend quit after lack of activity would be a perfect, in the interim I am working around it by killing the frontend at 1am with crontab. </div>

</div></div>I suppose a better way for this to work might be to have mythfrontend<br>
"time out" after XX minutes of no activity, and disconnect from the<br>
backend to allow shutdown to happen. But still remain running,<br>
and auto-reconnect if any UI activity happens (eg. input received<br>
from keyboard / remote-control).<br>
