I've seen things where it is complaining about not setting the correct IP address but they are at the default 127.0.0.1 and localhost. I'm running the 64bit version of 12.04 mythbuntu and I did allow updates to occur during and after installation. </div>

When setting up your capture card in mythtv-setup there is a setting for this I have missed in the past, think for your case it needs set to LNB.
