Considering that the IDE issue appears to have existed for many years I have questions about the value of LTS. BTW Debian 7 does not have any problem booting or installing on my hardware with no changes to anything (BIOS or hardware settings) I guess I got turned off by booting Mythbuntu 12.04 live cd on a different PC to find that pulseaudio version that was installed was version 1.
