</div>I think that only works when you're actually recording over firewire.<br>
If you're only using firewire to change channels, but recording with<br>
something else (e.g. analog capture with an HDPVR or something<br>
similar), mythtv still requires a script as far as I know.<br>

So after some more research I found a newer better script "stb-command" and this worked pretty much out of the box.<div>
<br></div><div>So the channel changing works and I can capture video perfectly running the <font color="#000000">test-mpeg2 script. But MythTV still seems to be not working with this set up. I can set the firewire up as a capture device with no problems. Myth finds the GUID and STB okay. But when I go into the front end and try to watch live TV i get a black screen. After looking at the /var/lib/mythtv/livetv directory I see it creates a 0 bytes file. </font></div>

The WIKI did mention a work around for it, but no explanation of how to do it.</span></div>
<div><br></div><div>Has anyone else had issues like this and also are there other tests I should run to determine if this is the cause of if it might be something else that's causing the blank screen.</div><div><br></div>
