The Intel D945GSEJT motherboard is a fanless mini-ITX motherboard with an integrated (soldered-on) Atom 1.6GHz single-core, hyper-threaded processor, and a Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset with integrated D-SUB VGA graphics. The biggest advantage over the D945GCLF is the absence of any fan which makes the board completely silent. The motherboard has a single DIMM slot for DDR2-533/667 memory, support for 2 SATA-2 drives, serial, parallel, 10/100 Ethernet, USB 2, and PS/2 ports, and 2-channel audio. Everything is well supported under Linux.

The integrated audio (Realtek ALC662 on Intel HDA) output isn't loud so I need to crank up my amplifier a little more than I was used to on the via EPIA version of my HTPC.

I installed this motherboard into an Jetway JC-110-B case with a slimline DVD-RW and 2.5" HDD (7200rpm). I installed two TechnoTrend Budget C-1501 DVB-C PCI cards via a PCI riser card. It has been a difficult journey to get them both working because of my lack of understanding the PCI bus, IDSEL jumpers and motherboard/BIOS int routing. But eventually I got them both working on PCI INTA/irq20 (2nd slot on IDSEL 29 and INTA). The motherboard is very capable of displaying one SD channel while recording another. To get smooth TV playback I had to create a custom profile to use default decoder combined with xv-blit and kernel deinterlacer for any resolution > 0x0.
