In the current SVN for mythtv there is a configure option

--enable-dvb enable DVB support (must supply header directory)
 --dvb-path=HDRLOC location of directory containing
                          'linux/dvb/frontend.h', not the
                          directory with frontend.h [/usr/include]

Can anyone explain what dvb-path is looking for?

dvb-path is the location of the DVB drivers in the kernel source.

The preceding article doesn't make it clear that the term DVB is used to refer to *all* ATSC in the context of Linux. In the context of Linux drivers, DVB is not just some european thing.

DVB Resources

I merged in DVB Resources. I can't see much need for discussion! Pelago 15:12, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I made DVB Resources a redirect to this page. --Gregturn 18:53, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

DVB and Mythtv configuration

There was a section on the article page, which gave an example of a DVB-S setup with mythtv I don't really understand why it was moved to the original contributers page. I only found it because I had added a few lines to it detailing a method to ensure the DVB-S and DVB-T cards would be consistent between reboots.

Configuring Cards in mythtv isn't easy so why hide the information?

DVB FF : output

There should be a note somewhere that mythtv doesn't support video & audio output on FF (http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-S_PCI_Cards#DVB-S_.22Full-Featured.22_Cards) cards.

On Linux only : - alsa, oss, arts, jack are supported for audio - xv, ivtv, directfb are supported for video
