Troubleshooting:The file for this recording can not be found

When I got this message, checking the logs gave me the following:

2006-10-09 21:37:48.050 ChannelBase: Could not find input: Tuner 0 on card when setting channel 7
2006-10-09 21:37:48.057 TVRec(1) Error: Failed to set channel to 7. Reverting to kState_None

According to this link on gossamer-threads, using mythtv-setup to delete all video sources and re-creating and re-mapping them fixes the problem. I can confirm that it worked for me. More investigation into what is going wrong would be nice - this was a very painful experience!

Now, if someone can determine a better way to remove the entries - right now I get the error message, open up a terminal and then use 'touch filename ' to create the file, then myth lets me delete the entry.

dr-nick: I found this happened when I upgraded ivtv from 0.4 to 0.7 along with a kernel upgrade. I think that the upgrade renumbered my PVR-350's inputs from 0-based to 1-based (eg Composite0 became Composite1). Rather than delete the video sources, editing the input connections to re-associate the source with the input was enough to fix this for me.
