Personal

I've been using MythTV for about a month now and have really enjoyed working with the people in this project to iron out all the little bugs. I graduation from RIT with a BS in CS and currently work for West a Thomson Company that does nothing really interesting to most people.

I've been in Rochester for about 8 years and I love the snow and gray so much I think I'll live here for at least 8 more. :)

MythTV setup

Here's a quick rundown of what I've got set up...

HARDWARE:

  • 51" Toshiba HDTV w/ DVI in
  • AMD Athlon XP 2600+ 512Mb RAM
  • 500Gb of HDD space on 3 seagate drives
  • DVD-ROM drive
  • CMedia (CM8738) incl. S/PDIF out
  • Hauppauge Win-TV PVR-150 w/ remote and sensor
  • Dish Network 311 receiver
  • Yamaha A/V receiver w/ S/PDIF and optical in

SOFTWARE:

  • MythTV CVS circa 0.17 (incl. MythVideo, MythDVD, MythGallery, MythWeb)
  • Fedora Core 3
  • Kernel 2.6.11.3 (custom-built)
  • KDE 3.3.1-2.9.FC3 (QT 3.3.4)
  • LIRC 0.7.1pre2 CVS snapshot
  • Xine
  • vobcopy (for ripping DVDs - full mirror)
