Description
A small grey-and-black set-top box. Receives DVB-T transmissions. Has a USB-B (1.1) socket for connection to a computer.
Issues and Problems
Rather ropy Windows client software. For some reason, the unit I have makes the antenna wire painfully live (feels a bit like grasping a firewire cable, but worse).
As DVB-T becomes more accepted in the UK, the streams appear to be consuming more bandwidth. In particular, the mainstream BBC channels apparently consume more GB per hour now then they did when DVB-T transmissions commenced.
As it resides on a USB 1.1 connection, this box now has some serious difficulties keeping up with the bandwidth requirements for these channels. I have personally stopped using it and replaced it with one of Hauppauge's USB 2.0 models.
