This page describes how to get Winfast DTV Dongle Gold working.

Introduction

This is a USB DTV Dongle Gold. To my surprise its reception is found to be even better than my Sony TV. The only problem is that the driver is not integrated with the existing linux kernel yet.

How to install

Hope these steps will do (will need mercurial installed):


hg clone http://linuxtv.org/hg/~anttip/af9015; cd af9005;

sudo make install;

Firmware from: http://www.otit.fi/~crope/v4l-dvb/af9015/af9015_firmware_cutter/firmware_files/

Once downloaded the firmware - copy to /lib/firmware/`uname -r`/

Then plug the dongle in and when you see the DTV Dongle detected in dmesg - you are ready to install and configure mythtv.
