HighEfficiency-AAC is an extension to AAC-LowComplexity to increase quality in low bandwidth environments. Mythtv supports recording and playback of HE-AAC audio in LATM.
Naming
HE-AAC is also known as aacPlus and AAC+SBR.
HE-AAC and DVB
DVB has HE-AAC multiplexed in LATM. (instead of ADIF or ADTS) Countries broadcasting HE-AAC audio in LATM.

HE-AAC v2
aacPlus v2 aka. AAC+SBR+PS is the extension off HE-AAC with ParametricStereo to support even lower bandwidths. As the name suggests this variant only supports 2 channels.
