Installing MythTV

Binary packages are available for a variety of platforms if you would like to forgo compiling MythTV from source and just get down to business recording TV.

There are also various MythTV specific distributions if you plan to build a dedicated appliance(s).

Packages

Fedora / Red Hat / CentOS

There are MythTV packages for Fedora available from both RPM Fusion and ATrpms. These repositories are not compatible with each other, so you'll have to take your pick between them.

Debian

MythTV is available through apt. See www.debian-multimedia.org for more information.

Ubuntu

MythTV is available through apt. See the Ubuntu Community Documentation for more information.

openSUSE

MythTV packages for openSUSE are available on: packman

Mandriva

A complete set of MythTV rpms for Mandriva is available through the Penguin Liberation Front

Arch Linux

Mac OS X

Various versions of MythTV for Mac OS X are available, including both frontend and backend and up to version 0.21-fixes and trunk. Packages are available at TheSniderPad.com.
