This page contradicts itself, it both recommends using DVB for analog and suggests using V4L.
I see nothing in http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/What_is_V4L_or_DVB%3F that would suggest that DVB supports analog.
I have tried it, I could not get DVB to work for analog. I propose that I clean up the page and remove the recommendation to use DVB for the analog signal, and will wait awhile for feedback before making this change.
