I had a problem where mythtvbackend was using the wrong password for the database. I edited /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt, but it did not take the password.

I found no help.

Eventually I found that ~mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt had the old entry and needed to be corrected. Where/when did this get populated? Where should we document that /var/lib/mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt has settings that can override /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt, which is linked from /usr/share/mythtv/mysql.txt on my debian install. --Mr.What 15:38, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
