Never really understood these pages about the users. What does it tell you about someone and why would they actually use this instead of setting up their own web site?

My Multi-Dwelling MythTV Setup

Master Backend

  • Intel Core 2 Quad Pentium 4 2.4GHz
  • 4GB RAM
  • Running mythbackend and mysql for the myth boxes

Storage Only Backend

  • Intel Core 2 Duo Penitum 4 2.8GHz
  • 512MB RAM
  • 1.4TB striped LVM xfs partition for recordings
  • 1.6TB RAID 5 array for videos and music

Encoder Backend

  • Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz
  • 512MB RAM
  • 80GB hard disk for recordings, synchronized nightly to storage box.
  • 2 PVR-150s each hooked up to their own Bell ExpressVu receiver.
    • Encoder 1: PVR-150 is hooked up to a 3100
    • Encoder 2: PVR-150-MCE is hooked up to a 4100, with recent flash update requires a reboot to stay active, APC PDU has a scheduled reboot for that port each night

Living room Frontend

  • Intel Pentium 4 2.8GHz
  • 512MB RAM
  • 120GB hard disk
  • 42" LG Full 1080p HD TV
  • Techniques surround sound with Mission speakers

Neighbour's Frontend/Backend

Ethernet cable runs around fence line, buried along the way, into both basements.

  • Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz
  • 512MB RAM
  • 80GB hard disk for recordings, synchronized nightly to storage box.
  • Encoder is PVR-350 which outputs to TV and is hooked up to Rogers SA-3200 digital cable box
