Accessory Modules

MythTV has a plug-in architecture which makes it easier for programmers to write extension modules. The modules take advantage of the infrastructure which Myth creates, and the interface routines it includes, to use the TV and remote to do other related 'convergence-y' type tasks for the user.

This is a built-in minibrowser for the World Wide Web. You probably wouldn't want to use it for your main browser, but it can be very useful for some things -- if your MythBox is connected to the Internet.
This module is for both playing and ripping DVD-Video discs.
The gallery module is a photo gallery/screen saver module; for showing libraries of still pictures.
MythGame interfaces to several videogame emulator programs, to turn your box into a classic arcade game machine.
The Music module lets you use your Box to play music, creating multiple playlists and random shuffling and suchlike.
This module monitors Internet RSS newsfeeds from websites which provide them, displaying the updates on the screen.
The MythVideo module allows you to play stored video content other than TV recordings. This can include ripped DVD's and downloaded video clips.
MythWeather is a one stop personalized weather station. By downloading information from the Internet you can display current conditions, RADAR maps, and forecasts for your specific area.
A web frontend for Myth installations allowing you to set up recordings remotely using an ordinary web browser.
Allows you to conduct voice and video calls over a LAN or the Internet with other computers supporting the SIP protocol, including other Myth Frontends with MythPhone.
