PAL

(Phase Alternating Line) Standard broadcast signal received by Televisions in many European countries. PAL color is usually used on broadcasts using 625-line (576/25i) scanning systems, mostly in Europe and the UK.
A list of countries and their TV standards is often difficult to find, but Google found this quite comprehensive one.
PAL comes in 7 variants:
