I've been a happy MythTV user since 2011 near Austin, TX, USA.  I have a combined backend/frontend HTPC and one remote frontend in a tiny NUC.  The whole family is spoiled by MythTV and cannot watch any other due to unacceptable commercials.  We also listen to the local music collection and internet radio via the frontends.  Both TVs run full screen and are used by remote control, the "10 foot interface".

== Software ==

I run mostly the latest MythTV on a recent Ubuntu and use the Mythbuntu theme.

Years ago I needed to balance auto expires over my disks of different size.  So I invented [https://github.com/twitham1/mythtv-balance-expire mythtv-balance-expire] which I run by cron once a month.

More recently I have contributed a few [https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/issues?q=author%3Atwitham1 bug fixes] or new features:

* v34: Music can now be controlled from full screen visual without return to the list and includes status OSD
* v34: full screen visual in Music can have keyboard options like text overlay
* v34: [[MythMusic#Play_Now|Play Now]] to play songs easier
* v34: Spectrogram and SpectrumDetail for [[MythMusic#Visualizations]] - see your music in the frequency domain!
* v33: WaveForm for [[MythMusic#Visualizations]] - see the amplitude "picture" of your whole track
* v32: recordedtime for OSD - see the time this was recorded
* v32 MythBuntu theme:
