Freeview

This uses an aerial (antenna) and requires the use of a tuner which provides DVB-T and/or DVB-T2 support.

Depending on the tuner type (PCI-e, USB, network) the default timeouts in Capture Card settings may need to be increased, the following settings work well for a range of devices and system loads and avoids "try increasing value if channels are missing".

Capture Card Tuning timeout (ms) should be set to 10000.

Capture Card Signal timeout (ms) should be set to 7000.

Satellite

This uses a satellite dish aligned to Astra 28E2 and requires the use of a tuner which provides DVB-S and/or DVB-S2 support. When scanning for channels use Frequency 10714000 and Symbol Rate 22000000.

From MythTV Version 31, a new feature allows channel numbering according to Freesat/Sky rules, previously the channel number was set to serviceid. To use this feature you need to know the Region and Bouquet values for the regional channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc) which are setup in Video Source, see following tables.
