Many of these motherboards appear to ship with a broadcast MAC address. Broadcast MAC addresses play havoc with anyone wanting to set-up an ASUS M2N-MX SE Plus as a diskless client.

These motherboards ship with a flawed BIOS that reverses the bytes in the MAC address. Further it reverses some of the nibbles in some of the MAC address bytes, so a byte with 'f4' becomes '4f'. All of this plays havoc with anyone wanting to set-up an ASUS M2N-MX SE Plus as a diskless client. There is no BIOS update or patch available as of this writing that will solve the above noted issues.

Issues

These motherboards ship with a flawed BIOS that reverses the bytes in the MAC address. Further it reverses some of the nibbles in some of the MAC address bytes, so a byte with 'f4' becomes '4f'.
