Commercial MythTV Systems
This is a list of companies who sell hardware bundled with a MythTV pre-install or sell uninstalled MythTV-compatible systems.
- Cosmos Engineering as seen in Aug06 Linux Journal. Based in Los Angeles.
- CommandIR : Canadian company InnovationOne sells a Linux-Only USB IR Transceiver for controlling multiple set top boxes and other A/V equipment from MythTV. They outline how to add automation to the MythTV menus.
- Monolith Media Center : Sells Ubuntu MythTV units ready to go out of the box.
- Better Access : Sells Australian Dragon, a customisable Knoppmyth Reference Platform system. As with mythic.tv's system, installation takes 13 minutes thanks to customised automation, and upgrades are easy. A published parts list allows the Aus DIY crowd to build their own.
- OpenMedia : NZ based company that have developed myPVR, a supported pre-installed MythTV based hardware solution.
- SolarPC : Sells silent stationary or mobile MythTV solutions
- LinSentio : Hobby-driven NL based company, selling preinstalled Gentoo Linux systems mainly on VIA C7 processors. MythTV starts automatically.
- Fox Media Systems : Sells Mythbuntu units ready to go out of the box.
- Chimera Media Center : New Italian HTPC based on MythTV
- MediaImpact Technologies : Louisville, KY based custom installer
Defunct and/or Closed
- D1 : Australian company, sells a "Home Media Centre" based on MythTV (It is a pity that MythTV isn't credited in any way on their web site however. Hint hint.)
- MythiC.TV : Sells Dragon, a customizable Knoppmyth Reference Platform system, as seen in Dec06 Linux Magazine. Installation takes 13 minutes thanks to customized automation, and upgrades are easy because of KnoppMyth. A published parts list allows the DIY crowd to build their own.
- EfficientPC Ltd : UK based company, selling preinstalled Mythtv systems based on the Asus Pundit Barebone case.
