Intel DP35DP

The Intel P35DP motherboard is a full size ATX motherboard with an LGA-775 socket for Core 2 Duo and similar processors. Features are:

  • Form Factor
ATX (12.00 inches by 9.60 inches [304.80 millimeters by 243.84 millimeters])
  • Socket
LGA 775
  • Supports 45nm & 65nm Intel Core2 Quad processors with a 1333 or 1066 MHz FSB
  • Supports Intel Core2 Duo with a 1333/1066/800 MHz FSB
  • Supports Intel Pentium with an 800 MHz FSB
  • Supports Intel Celeron with an 800 MHz FSB
  • Four 240-pin DDR2 sockets
  • Supports DDR2 800 or DDR2 667
  • Supports up to 8 Gigs RAM
  • Intel P35 Express Chipset
  • Intel High Definition Audio (Intel HD Audio) subsystem using a Sigmatel STAC9271D chip, supporting 8-channel (7.1) audio subsystem with five analog audio outputs and one optical S/PDIF digital audio output
  • Legacy I/O controller for serial port via header
  • Intel 82566DC Gigabit Ethernet
  • Twelve USB 2.0 ports
  • Six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, including 1 eSATA port via an ICH9R southbridge (NCQ/AHCI support, great for heavy disk I/O)
  • Two IEEE-1394a (AKA Firewire) interfaces (1 external port, 1 internal header)
  • Internal header for an IR transceiver
  • One PATA controller supporting UDMA 33 and ATA-66/100/133
  • Three 32-bit PCI slots
  • Three PCIe x1 slots
  • One PCIe x16 slot

Other Notes

  • Mythbuntu 8.04 detected everything from the start except for the CPU temp sensor (that required an upgrade to lm_sensors for the new chipset ID info).
  • AC3/DTS pass through worked perfectly without any additional configuration (besides turning the SPDIF on via alsamixer).
