Tribune Media's Zap2it Labs has announced they will discontinue providing US program listing data to (at least) MythTV users on 1-Sep-07, due to "certain growing misuses of the Zap2it Labs data". In the immortal words of the Guide, DON'T PANIC. There's a thread running on the mailing list, and on the Zap2It forum, on which you can make your feelings known. Calmness is recommended. It's likely that some accommodation will be reached, somehow... and there's always screen scraping.

Welcome to the information and documentation wiki for MythTV!

We're here to provide collaborative documentation of the MythTV project, an open source software Personal Video Recorder. It lets you build a box similar to a TiVo or ReplayTV, but much more powerful - and more easily modified.

A note on versioning, for both readers and writers: information in all sections of this wiki (including the User Manual pages) should by policy, and usually will, always reflect the system's current production release. MythTV 0.20 was released on 11 Sep 2006. When possible, differences regarding the immediately previous release should be noted in parentheses, or with numbered section headers if the changes are large enough. We want to stay as current as possible, but we don't want to leave large numbers of users behind. It is possible that some material may have become outdated, and will be of the last version for which it was pertinent. Check the page history and last modified date for a page if you're unsure. If you find something that's out of date, please feel free to fix it, or report it to the Users mailing list.
