The OSD, or On-Screen Display, is the term used for any text or other graphics overlaid on a live or recorded program. The term isn't really used to apply to other graphic displays Myth produces, like menus or the program guide.
In MythTV, the attributes (layout, colors, etc.) of the OSD is configurable and is part of the Theme.
